DAISO's landing strategy in the Mexican market
The Japanese single-price product chain DAISO has officially confirmed its expansion in the region with the start of operations in Mexico, outlining a development plan that includes a series of strategic openings before the end of the year.
Timeline of openings and commercial formats
The company's rollout will begin in September with the inauguration of its first two units in the State of Mexico, located in the shopping centers Mundo E and Multiplaza Izcalli, in premises ranging from 190 to 225 m².
Subsequently, before the end of the year, the firm plans to add three additional points of sale located in Puerta Aragón and Chedraui Polanco within Mexico City, as well as in Xalapa Crystal in the state of Veracruz. With this itinerary, the company plans to finalize its first five openings in the Mexican market before January 2027. For this entry, DAISO has partnered with a local associate and received specialized advice from the firm Lizan Retail Advisors (LRA).
Brand catalog and international presence
The commercial proposal that DAISO introduces in the country includes an offer of more than 17,000 items distributed in categories such as home, accessories, and everyday products. The assortment will include not only its main brand, but also its product lines Standard Products and Threeppy.
Globally, the corporation has a network of 5,891 stores distributed in 26 countries, including markets such as the United States and Thailand, in addition to having a prior presence in Latin America through its establishments in Brazil.
At next+ we consider that DAISO's arrival confirms the continuous attractiveness of the Mexican market for Asian-origin value retail and lifestyle concepts. The introduction of a catalog of more than 17,000 SKUs supported by differentiated brands such as Standard Products and Threeppy allows it to compete in the home and daily use items segment, where fast inventory turnover and location in high vehicle and pedestrian traffic shopping centers are key elements to ensure profitability per square meter.
