PayPal and Anthropic offer free AI training for SMEs.

PayPal and Anthropic launched a free AI training program for SMEs, along with an integration of Claude with tools like QuickBooks, HubSpot, and Canva to automate processes.

PayPal and Anthropic announced a collaboration aimed at reducing the adoption gap of artificial intelligence among small and medium-sized enterprises. The starting point is a concrete fact: 82% of SMEs surveyed by PayPal believe that AI will be crucial to maintaining their competitiveness, but 73% acknowledge that they do not have the training or the necessary tools to implement it effectively. The alliance seeks to address exactly that contradiction.

The first component is "AI Fluency for Small Business", a completely free online training program structured in nine modules with videos delivered by artificial intelligence specialists and entrepreneurs. The content is based on the so-called "4D AI Fluency Framework" and is designed for participants to progress at their own pace, focusing on the practical and safe use of AI within the business environment. Upon completing the program, users receive a certificate that can be shared on social media and professional platforms.

The second component is "Claude for Small Business", an integration developed by Anthropic that connects the Claude assistant with everyday business applications used by SMEs. The solution allows for the automation of tasks related to billing, refunds, and administrative processes, always maintaining the final validation of the user before executing payments or approvals. The tool is compatible with platforms like QuickBooks, HubSpot, and Canva, aiming to centralize the management of various operations from a single access point.

PayPal also noted that it plans to expand these initiatives through partnerships with nonprofit organizations to enhance training in AI and digital skills at an international level, with the goal of accelerating the adaptation of small businesses to an increasingly digitized environment.

Artificial intelligence is a competitive variable accessible to businesses of any size, provided there are the resources for training and the appropriate integrations to facilitate its adoption. From the perspective that next+ builds around education and the development of digital skills, this initiative points to something that the Education section of the platform also emphasizes: practical training in artificial intelligence is not a luxury reserved for large teams with digital transformation budgets. It is a competency that any professional or entrepreneur can develop with the right resources. In the Education section of next+, you will find courses and content aimed at helping you understand, apply, and leverage AI in your business or in your professional development, in the same spirit that PayPal and Anthropic are betting on to close this gap through training.
